Engineering an automated climate data preprocessing pipeline for the national meteorological agency (BMKG), powering public interactive visualizations at iklim.bmkg.go.id.
Meteorological monitoring stations across Indonesia generate continuous, high-volume climate streams characterized by heterogeneous data structures and varying recording intervals. BMKG required an automated solution to ingest, reconcile, and validate these raw observations into publication-ready data on a dependable schedule for the public.
Sadasa architected and deployed an automated data preprocessing pipeline. The solution systematically cleanses raw telemetry, harmonizes meteorological parameters, flags anomaly records, and structures the processed data into optimized schemas for interactive geospatial rendering.
The pipeline output operates as the underlying data engine powering the national climate visualisations at iklim.bmkg.go.id. To ensure institutional self-sufficiency, Sadasa concurrently delivered intensive Tableau visualization and data preprocessing masterclasses to 60 technical analysts across BMKG’s Deputy for Climatology.
