SuperApps DIGIT Architecture Design for the Ministry of Finance

Client / Institution
Directorate General of Treasury, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia
Year
2023

Designing a microservices architecture for the Ministry of Finance's DIGIT SuperApps, supported by infrastructure requirements and a development plan to guide application integration.

The Challenge

The Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) needed a design for bringing its non-core applications into the DIGIT SuperApps ecosystem. This required an architecture that addressed functional needs, scalability, security, and service continuity, alongside a path for migrating from monolithic applications to microservices.

Sadasa’s Role

Sadasa developed the microservices architecture design for DIGIT SuperApps with the Directorate of Treasury Information Systems and Technology (SITP). The study included reviewing existing technical documentation, discussing requirements with DJPb teams, conducting analysis and design, and presenting and handing over the results.

The design covers application and infrastructure architecture, migration strategy, communication between services, authentication and authorisation, and development and operations through a DevOps approach. Supporting documents set out infrastructure requirements and development stages to guide subsequent implementation.

Project Outcomes

The study produced three books:

  • DIGIT SuperApps Microservices Architecture Design, covering application design, infrastructure, security, and operations.
  • Technical Infrastructure Requirements for DIGIT SuperApps, detailing software requirements, infrastructure capacity, and disaster recovery.
  • DIGIT SuperApps Microservices Development Plan, setting out development, migration, maintenance, team requirements, and time and cost estimates.

The work was handed over in December 2023. The book edition shown was published in 2024 and credits PT Sadasa Akademi Indonesia and the Subdirectorate of Data Science and Treasury Information Systems Management as its writing team.

Together, these documents provide a technical and planning reference for developing an integrated DIGIT ecosystem, with documented application, infrastructure, and implementation requirements.
